Ownership
Do I own the website?
Yes. The Next.js codebase is yours. The Vercel project is yours. The domain is yours. All content ever published is yours. If you stop working with us, everything stays. There is nothing to transfer. It's already in your name.
What do I own vs. what do you manage?
You own: the codebase, the domain, the Vercel deployment, all blog posts and pages ever published, and all contacts and data generated by the lead intake system. We manage: the agent stack that runs the marketing workflows, the strategy, the content calendar, and the outreach sequences. These run through our infrastructure. If you cancel, the agents stop. The site stays live.
Can I make changes to the site myself?
Yes. The codebase is Next.js and any developer can work on it. We don't use proprietary tools that lock you out. If you want to add a page or change copy yourself, you can. We recommend flagging us so we can update the agent training and internal links, but it's not required.
What happens to my site if I cancel?
The site stays live. The agents stop running. No content is deleted. No redirects break. The Vercel project stays yours. You lose the ongoing marketing operation (weekly content, SEO audits, outreach, lead automation) but the site itself is permanent.
Cancellation
How do I cancel?
30 days' written notice to hola@autopilotpr.com. No forms, no calls required. The retainer stops at the end of the notice period. Everything you own stays yours.
Is there a minimum contract length?
Autopilot runs month-to-month after the first 3 months, which are included in the Standard and Pro build price. You can cancel after month 3 with 30 days' notice.
What if I want to pause instead of cancel?
Pausing is handled case-by-case. The 90-day guarantee triggers an automatic pause if you haven't been cited by AI within the first 90 days. Outside of that, pausing is not part of the standard agreement. Contact us and we'll figure it out.
What if I cancel before the build is done?
We bill in milestones for the build phase. If you cancel mid-build, you pay for milestones completed. You keep everything built to that point.
Technical requirements
Do I need to be on Next.js already?
Not for Standard or Pro. We build from scratch. If you want to add Autopilot to an existing site, it needs to be Next.js or Astro. WordPress is not compatible with the agent layer.
Does my site need to be on a specific host?
We deploy on Vercel. It's the fastest and most reliable host for Next.js. If you have an existing Vercel project, we can work within it. If not, we set one up for you.
What if I have an existing domain?
We work with your existing domain. DNS migration is a 30-minute process we do with you on a call.
Do I need to use your email service?
No. Outreach runs through our sending infrastructure. Your domain stays clean. We set up sending on a subdomain (e.g., mail.yourdomain.com) so outreach deliverability doesn't affect your main domain reputation.
What tools does Autopilot use?
The agent stack uses OpenAI APIs for content generation, Apollo for prospect research, Google Search Console for ranking data, GA4 for traffic data, HubSpot or native CRM for lead routing, Vercel for deployment, and our own agent orchestration layer. All included in the Autopilot retainer.
How it's different
How is a Smart Website different from a regular website?
A regular website is built and then left. Someone maintains it when something breaks. A Smart Website runs agent workflows that publish content, audit SEO, qualify leads, and run outreach on a fixed schedule. The difference is between a static asset and an operating system.
How is this different from hiring a marketing agency?
An agency bills for hours and sends you deliverables. You still manage the direction, the schedule, and the follow-through. A Smart Website runs the execution automatically. You approve; the machine executes. The output per dollar is structurally different.
How is this different from a SaaS marketing tool?
SaaS tools give you the platform. You still do the work inside the platform. Autopilot does the work. You get the output, not the interface.
How is this different from WordPress with plugins?
WordPress with plugins can automate some distribution tasks: publish a post, send a newsletter. It cannot audit its own SEO, write its own content, qualify its own leads, or run outreach. The agent layer requires a codebase where we can deploy and schedule compute, not a CMS plugin architecture.
Why Next.js and not WordPress, Webflow, or Squarespace?
Performance, AI crawler compatibility, and the ability to run server-side agent logic. WordPress, Webflow, and Squarespace serve content but cannot run the agent infrastructure. Next.js on Vercel can.
The guarantee
What exactly is the 90-day guarantee?
Cited by AI in 90 days, or Autopilot is free until you are. If your business is not cited at least once by any major AI system (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI, Gemini, Claude, or Copilot) within 90 days of your site going live, the Autopilot retainer pauses. The agents keep running. You pay nothing until the citation happens.
Who does the guarantee apply to?
Autopilot subscribers only. It does not apply to one-time builds. You need to be on the ongoing retainer for the guarantee to apply.
What counts as a citation?
Your business being named or recommended in a direct response from any of the listed AI systems when a user asks a relevant query. One mention, anywhere in the network, within 90 days.
Has anyone triggered the guarantee?
No. autopilotpr.com was cited by ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Google AI within weeks of launch. The Nate Lind Smart Website earned its first Perplexity citations on day 21.
